This week we will be working on UNIT 5 Lesson 1 "Courage"

Free Reading during D.E.A.R.
Reading: The story this week is " Dragons and Giants " : Asking, Making connections, Main Ideas/Details.
Writing: We will continue our focus on how to write good sentences by answering who, what, where, why and when. Students will learn to identify and use capital letters and correct endings. We will also be working on making observations in a paragraph.
Please continue to Practice grammar skills with your children to help students apply them in their writing.
Grammar: The week we will be working on Capitals, and commas in Letters. We will also be working on suffixes -er and -ness.
Phonics: The sound spellings this week is: /aw/ the sound can be aw or ou_.
Required decodable book for the week for our sound/spellings: "Sue, Joan,and Mud" and "Look How Pets Adapt" Please have your read decodable to you each night. The more times they read it, the better.
Homework
Monday: Write Spelling words 3 times each.
Tuesday: Vocabulary pg. 75-76
Wednesday: Spelling Worksheet pg. 79-80, study for spelling test Thursday.
Thursday: Study open/ended Reading questions for Test Friday.
Friday: No HOMEWORK

Vocabulary: brave, puffing, avalanche, trembling, afraid, leaping.
